All the Christmas Things: December 2020

a big ole’ Christmas Photo Dump!

Christmas was definitely a little different this year, mostly because we weren’t able to celebrate with my husband’s grandmother (his “nana”) on Christmas Day the way we’ve done for gosh— probably 10 years now! We did get to see her though (keeping six-feet distance and wearing masks), and we were fortunate to see our parents and the boys cousin’s on both sides of the family. Despite COVID restrictions and remaining mostly isolated at home, we found a few fun ways to still celebrate the season, attending an outdoor and drive-through light show; taking the kids to their first movie (the Grinch); and creating our own sort of Christmas Eve extravaganza featuring a platter of favorites from Trader Joe’s!

Of course there were Christmas Pajamas… lots of them!

Christmas PJs might be my favorite part of the holiday.

Shenanjgans’ around the house

December was filled with lots of mischievousness among the boys! They’re both obsessed with slamming the bedroom door (any door really) and then locking it. 😳🙄 JR is also become quite comfortable going “super fast” in his wheelchair. It’s terrifying! Lol. Caden also loves to be chased by JR and has been known to fall running as fast as he can. Lol. The boys played well together for the most part, but there was

Their speech is growing every day and the conversations they have are just priceless:

They encourage each-other: ”you can do it buddy!” ”go JR! Go JR, go!” “come on brother”

They ask for their favorite shows: ”Christmas paw-patrol / Christmas blaze”

And they love make pretend: ”there’s a storm cloud comin” “there’s a ghost—hide! quick!”

JR is saying, “perfec-p” all the time… and also “what the hell,” and “shit.” YIKES.

Caden is always negotiating: “twooo minutes, Mama!” “Alexa, set the timer for 2 minutes!”

”no Ms. Elena, no Ms. donna, no school!” 🙅🏻‍♀️
