Hello and happy Friday! How’s your day going so far? My day is so-so; the temperature dropped in DC yesterday and it’s been rather rainy and cold, which makes me want to curl up in bed and do nothing! But, alas, I have to work!
There’s another reason I might want to hide out, though… I’m signed up to Murph on Saturday. You know, the crazy CrossFit workout, Murph:
It’s a popular Memorial Day hero WOD (workout named after a service individual who died in the line of duty) and most of the people at our box did it last weekend. We went to Regionals and missed it, but Aaron got us linked up with a few others who missed it and want to to it. (I don’t quite understand why anyone would WANT to do it?!) The good news is that we’re allowed to breakup the pull-ups, push-ups and air squats however we’d like. My plan is to do 20 rounds of 5, 10, and 15 with some scaling of course; probably a band for pull-ups and I’m sure at some point I’ll be dropping to my knees for push-ups.
In other news, I put together a summer wish list! It’s definitely more of a wish list than a checklist, but I do really feel like I need some of these items! Especially the shoes… I got rid of so much in my massive closet clean out, there’s definitely some holes in my wardrobe.
Also, you have to check out this adorable CrossFit marriage proposal on How We Met. Gah! Seriously, how cute?
There’s also this girl (@getfitkatie) who I recently started following on Instagram. She’s a doll! I’ve gotten some great ideas from her, too like these taco turkey stuffed bell peppers. THEY’RE SO GOOD! I’m definitely making them again next week!
