JR was born at 24 weeks weighing just 1 lb 12 ounces and spent the first five months of life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Around his first birthday I noticed he was behind on most all his gross motor skills including sitting up on his own, rolling, and crawling. A year later he was formally diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He also has auditory nephropathy and chronic lung disease, but if you know JR, you know he’s so much more than his medical diagnoses! This blog is a celebration of his miraculous life and a journal of all the amazing adventures and places he’s taken us to as he teaches us more about the human body and its resilient spirit.
